Visiting Nyamyumba Hot Springs, located on the shores of Lake Kivu in Rubavu, is an experience of both relaxation and immersion into Rwanda’s natural beauty. One visitor shared that their first impression of Nyamyumba was of “warm water cascading from natural rock formations,” creating pools that naturally heat the body and soothe tense muscles. The scenic lake views only added to the peaceful vibe, as many travelers take time here to unwind and enjoy the therapeutic qualities of the springs.

The hot springs attract not only tourists but also locals who believe in the natural healing properties of the mineral-rich waters. “The people were friendly, and I learned so much from the locals about the hot spring’s history and cultural significance,” another guest recalled. As the visit continued, tourists were often invited to try traditional Rwandan massages, where hot spring water is used as part of the massage process. According to one visitor, the experience was “an unforgettable blend of nature and wellness.”

After relaxing in the warm pools, many visitors enjoy a swim in Lake Kivu or simply sit by the lakeside, soaking in the views of the surrounding hills and the calming expanse of the lake.
